PART 2

"Aurora, do you really need to decorate the place?" Boulder asked. Aurora was making Basiliskos Flowers grow along the path she had made in the trees.
"Boulder, why are you worrying so much?"
"No reason." Aurora looked him over.
"Is there something you're not telling me?"
"No. What makes you think that?"
"Your behavior is very suspicious." Aurora faced him and crossed her arms. "You're hiding something."
     "No I'm not."
"Boulder..." They stared at each other for a minute. Boulder sighed.
"There's just no getting around you, is there?"
     "Nope."
"Does that second pair of eyes make you physic?"
"No. But they do help me see bullshit. Come on then, out with it." Boulder sat down.
"Well, I..." Aurora noticed something in his expression. She changed her eyesight to Aura Vision. His Aura was purple.
"You've met a dragoness." Boulder looked up like a guilty dog and nodded.
"She's supposed to come over tonight." Aurora smiled.
"I see. And you worry because...?"
"I don't know." Boulder ran his claws through the sand. "I pretty much told her everything, so there's no reason to stay hidden from the humans when they come."
"Well, I'm glad you've finally found someone." Aurora went to his side and gave his shoulder a firm pat. "Come on, stop acting like a teenager. It'll be fine." Aurora stood back and looked at her work. "I think that's good. Don't want to go overboard."
"I agree." Aurora turned around to see Van Kleiss. Boulder stood up snarling. Aurora held up a hand, signaling him to stand down.
"What do you want this time Van Kleiss?" she demanded with a sigh, crossing her arms again.
     "You sound dreary."
"I'm just getting tired of you coming here whenever you so desire." Van Kleiss chuckled. "Now answer my question."
"A little bird told me an old associate of mine will be here." Aurora said nothing at first.
     "Leave. Now."
"So, my little bird was right." Van Kleiss said with a grin. Aurora glared at him.
"If I so little as sense your presence here, you will be in a world of hurt." she threatened with a hiss. "Now leave. You've overstayed your welcome."
"Have I now?" Aurora uncrossed her arms with a growl.
"You are wearing down my patience. And Boulder won't stand idle for long." As if to prove her point, Boulder took a few steps forward, his head lowered in a vicious snarl. Van Kleiss lowered his head and closed his eyes, still grinning.
"I've taken your hint. I'll be on my way." One of Breach's portals opened behind him, and he was gone. There was a moment of silence.
"You really need to find a way to keep him off the island." Boulder retorted with a snort.
"I'll do some research in the Spellbook later. In the meantime, we'll have to make sure he doesn't ruin anything. At least Biowulf isn't here. Who knows what he would have done."
"And if Van Kleiss does come back?"
"Just as I said: he'll be in a world of hurt."

To be continued...
Dammit Van Kleiss, why do you have to ruin everything?
