Description
The only armor he had was made of leather and cloth. His sword and shield were cheap. Yet he marched to the mountain of fire to face the demon that resided among its ridged and flaming slopes. He stood on one of the highest ridges and waited. He looked down to see the liquid fire beneath him move. The surface broke, and the demon crawled its way to the man. It hissed like the flames it came from as it stared down its opponent. The man puffed out his chest and spoke without fear.
"Surrender now, and I will reward you with a quick death!" he shouted at the creature. It simply laughed.
"You think you can defeat me?" it asked smugly. "Have you any idea how many have come before you and failed?"
"I am not like those others, beast! I will be your end!" It only laughed again.
"Many times I have heard that." The demon reared up, the holes along its body glowing with the flames within. "I am living fire! I am a god! All of you are beneath me, and none of you have the power to kill me. You should be the one surrendering."
"That is where you are wrong, demon!" the man said defiantly. The beast growled.
"Very well. If it is a fight you want, a fight you will receive. But do not expect me to show mercy when you are grovelling at my feet!"
"And to you, demon!" The man drew his sword and raised his shield, and the battle ensued.

Well, I certainly had fun with this! And I even threw in a story. This must be a good day. :3
